Glycoprotein IIIa. Normal megakaryocytes and platelets. This stain for platelet glycoprotein (Gp) IIIa labels platelets and megakaryocytes. It is especially helpful in identifying blast cells in acute leukemia that carry megakaryocytic markers (acute megakaryocytic leukemia).

It is especially helpful in identifying blast cells in acute leukemia that carry megakaryocytic markers (acute megakaryocytic leukemia) as shown in this image. Note the positive blast cells.
