AB Chronic  myeloid  leukemia  (CML)  is  a  clonal  disorder  of  the  hematopoietic  stem  cell  affecting  every  lineage  (except  T  lymphocytes).  It  affects  about  5500  people  a  year  in  the  United  States  and  has  a  median  age  of  onset  in  the  sixth  decade.  The  cause  of  CML  is  unknown.
