Toxic  granulation  (visible  purple  granules)  is  present  in  the  neutrophils.  A  lymphocyte  is  present  in  the  center  of  the  field  (asterisk)  and  two  monocytes  are  evident,  marked  by  the  asterisks.  Two  of  the  neutrophils  are  band  forms;  the  rest  are  segmented  forms.
